Conflict of Interest: The author, Ramin Khorasani, MD, MPH, is named on US Patent 6,029,138 (“Computer System for Decision Support in the Selection of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Tests and Interventions for Patients”) held by Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) on medical management software licensed to Medicalis Corporation. As a result of licensing and consistent with BWH policy, Dr Khorasani and other inventors have equity and royalty interests in Medicalis and some of its products.
